Comfort at my Table - Happy in my Heart.

I knew something was wrong the moment I walked in the door. There were people smiling.

On a Monday morning.

On a Monday morning, the first Monday back at work after Christmas holidays.

Part of me wanted to hiss and back out the door away from all the crazy people – but then I saw what they were smiling about. It was good coffe, and right here in the heart of Milton.

After my car park chat with Peter and Janie from Bunnyconnellen  – they told me about their friend that had just opened a new café in Milton. I was excited – if these people knew half as much about good coffee as they did about good olives – I was there.

So the next morning, with little more direction than “It’s on Cribb Street” and it had the word “Comfort” in it’s name – I set about finding my Monday morning fix. One illegal turn and some dodgy parking later and I was ensconced in the friendliest café I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. In it’s quaint French Provincial style, beautiful wallpaper and chic furnishings – it felt a world away from the semi Industrial setting of Milton.

I ordered a Skinny Mocha, and asked – as a I always do – “Can you make it quite strong?”. The young Waitress told me matter of factly that they put 2 shots of coffee in their Large Mocha’s and not to worry – they weren’t one of those place that skimp on the caffeine or the chocolate. *Cue Happy Dance!!*

While I waited, I enviously took in every detail of this gorgeous café. White furniture, homey wallpaper and super cute decals. All nice touches that set it apart from the rest of the area. Add to that the stack of Recipe Books and Gourmet Magazines available for customers to read – I was completely won over. This was a café for FOODIES!!

My coffee – I am so delightfully happy to report was perfect. PERFECT. It had it’s promised 2 shots of coffee, but the chocolate mix was a frothy, velvety smooth concoction I don’t think I’ve had since my time in Europe. I all but skipped back to the car – like Pollyanna with a Caffeine habit.

I’ll be back – MIL would love this place – but so would SIL… will have to start hinting at a lunch date soon I think…

*Note: I have been back twice more for coffee and each one has been consistently good... I couldn't beleive my luck that I found such good coffee so close to work so had to go back just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

  9. Just had to drop in and let you all know that I have now had more coffees than I can count here and ALL have been fabulous.

And went for breakfast with my MIL and SIL last week - both very fussy foodies - and both were astounded and in love. I had the omelette and it was SENSATIONAL - SIL had the Eggs Benedict and declared it one of the best she's ever had.

    If you're a local - give it a try :)

  10. Hi!

Coming from out of town and wondering what sort of parking is available close by? They don't have a website.
    Thanks for your help....

  11. Hi Aly!
Comfort is on Little Crib St at Milton - there is parking across the road from them in the Thai Orchard Restaurant, a few spots behind them as well as a fair bit of on-street parking around the Cafe.

Just keep in mind they are only open Mon-Fri so hope you weren't planning on coming in for a weekend? My best bet would be the parking in the Thai Restaurant :)
    Hope you enjoy it!! :)
